Quando o Inverno acaba, da terra, onde a semente caiu, um ramo vertical aparece. O sol começa a sentir-se e o verde ramo cresce. É uma árvore, mas é tão pequena que ainda ninguém a reconhece. Devagar começa a crescer. Surgem pequenos ramos e desses pequenos ramos nascem botões que se transformarão em novos ramos… Uns anos mais tarde o pequeno ramo vertical transformou-se num tronco repleto de ramos, que no futuro irão produzir sementes, flores e frutos. No Outono, as sementes serão espalhadas, umas perto do tronco, outras levadas pelo vento. Em todo o lado uma semente cai, e uma nova árvore irá crescer. (Munari, Bruno. O livro inicia-se com uma mancha verde na capa, abre-se o livro, abre-se uma porta e surgem dois mundos distintos e próximos. Nestas duas páginas, nascem formas que se transformam, como um jogo, em que o seu limite é a linha que as une. Uma mancha verde pode originar figuras diferentes e a sua repetição sugere novas histórias. Com uma mesma mancha, a liberdade permite-nos descobrir novas formas e explorando conseguimos um sem número de hipóteses: uma árvore pequena, outra maior, uma com ramos ascendentes, outra descendentes.
As interpretações variam: para ti são manchas, para mim são folhas… Provavelmente a visão mais rica surgirá quando conseguirmos compreender as duas imagens: tu perceberes as folhas e eu entender as manchas.
Um ponto verde pode ser interpretado de diversas formas, desdobrando-se em várias
possibilidades… tal como um livro! O livro é aberto e as mesmas páginas, o mesmo texto e imagens vão ser sentidos de forma diferente: por ti e por mim.
E na partilha e compreensão das duas visões, criamos uma nova história.
Este livro foi realizado para a exposição colectiva de livros de artistas naturezas vivas - das sementes, das aves e dos frutos, realizada no evento Aos papeis pela Escola Profissional Artística Árvore e pela Cooperativa Árvore do Porto, em Maio de 2013.
O livro teve como principais referências os livros La trilogia del Limite de Suzy Lee (Corraini 2012), falando sobre a importância do limite das páginas como elemento da narrativa e as diferentes interpretações deste nos seus livros e o livroDrawing a Tree de Bruno Munari (Corraini, 2012), inserido na colecção dos 4 livros dedicados aos workshops do autor, onde são exploradas diferentes técnicas e diferentes formas de interpretar uma imagem, sugerindo aos adultos e às crianças trabalharem em conjunto.
Livro de Imagens é um livro de estudo, um diário gráfico com o intuito de explorar a mancha e o limite das páginas. São registados momentos gráficos, momentos de pensamento onde a mancha é interpretada, destacando o seu lado infinito de possibilidades. O limite da página é também referido como elemento de descoberta e como elemento da narrativa, desdobrando-se em diferentes leituras.
Assim, estamos perante um livro de pensamentos, em que a partir de um ponto é desenvolvido uma série de possibilidades que permitem uma imagem gráfica mais rica e mais ampla, percepcionando este campo aberto de respostas, possíveis através da imaginação.
O livro inicia-se com uma mancha, poderá ser uma semente ou uma árvore ou até uma ervilha. Virando as páginas, as manchas transformam-se e ganham um novo sentido. Qual o sentido da semente, da árvore e do limite das páginas? O que pode surgir de manchas idênticas? Uma infinidade de possibilidades, e na sua percepção abrimos novos campos da imaginação e novas narrativas.
"At last winter is finished and, from the ground where a seed has dropped, a vertical green blade appears. The sun starts to make itself felt and the green shoots grow. It is a tree, but so small no one recognizes it yet. Little by little it grows though. It begins to branch, buds germinate on its branches, other branches spring from the buds, other leaves from the branches, and so on. A few years later, that green blade will have become a fine trunk covered in boughts. Later still, it will have produced wide branches which will produce leaves, blossoms and fruit. In autumn it will screech its seeds around, and some will fall beneath it while others will be carried far away by the wind. Almost everywhere a seed falls, a new tree will grow." (Munari, Bruno. This book was done for the collective exhibition of Artist´s Books "alive natures: from the seeds, the birds and the fruits" performed at the Artistic and Professional School Árvore and the Cooperative Árvore from Oporto, may 2013.
The book had as main references the books: La tripologia del Limite from Suzy Lee (Corraini, 2012), about the importance of the limits of pages as an element of the narrative and the difference meanings of it in her books, and the book "Drawing a Tree" from Bruno Munari (Corraini, 2012), insert on the 4 books dedicated to the artist´s workshops, where is explored different techniques and different ways of interpret an image, suggesting adults and children to work together.
Image Book is a study book, a graphic diary with the intention of explore the stain and the limit of the pages. There are graphic moments registered, moments of thinking where the stain is interpreted, highlighting the infinite side of possibilities. The limit of pages is also referred as an element of discovering and as an element of the narrative, showing different ways of reading it.
Therefore, we are in front of a book of though, that starting with a point, it is developed a number of possibilities that enables a richer and bigger image, understanding this open field of answers, possible through the imagination.
The book starts with a stain, that can be a seed, a tree or even a pea. Turning the pages, the stains are transformed and get a new meaning. What is the meaning of the seed, the tree and the limit of the page? What can arise from similar stains? An infinity of possibilities, and with this perception we open new imagination´s and narrative´s fields.

This was my final work for the illustration master.
The intent of this book was to collect different poems from different portuguese authors about Oporto, using the illustration and the graphic design to unify them.
Porto d´Ouro is a book for children and for adults, showing different interpretations about the city, encouraging the reading of poetry and enable the perception of the book as a unified object of different languages.

"SEIS ilustradores iluminam SEIS faces ocultas. Em comum os SEIS têm apenas o Mestrado de Ilustração da ESAP GMR e o remar obstinado contra o fluxo crescentemente homogéneo do universo da ilustração. São SEIS remos que vão fazendo força nesta exposição no Mundo Fantasma, e que dão uma oportunidade de ouvir as suas SEIS vozes destacarem-se, com SEIS timbres diferentes, do murmúrio geral."
